To all 2010 Bantams and Peewees (Born 1996 or younger):
The National Development Director, Mac Hickox, of USA Canoe Kayak established a "Barton's Bantams" program or the "200km Club" that we have participated in each Fall Session for the past 2 years. Called Barton's Bantams, to recognize Greg Barton who won 2 Gold Medals for Kayaking in the 1988 Seoul Olympics and a Bronze in the 1984 LA and 1992 Barcelona Olympics, it encourages our younger athletes to build up their endurance and strength so they have a good base to pull from as they move to the older age groups of the sport and train for Nationals next Summer in their own age group.
Barton's Bantams recognizes any 2010 Bantam (or Pee Wee) born 1996 or after who reaches the goal of 200km over a period of 8 weeks.  They will be recognized on the USACK website and receive a t-shirt!
The top paddlers who have topped 100km after week 6 are:
Leilani Borm       180km
Danielle Borm     180km
Carly DaCosta    172km
Bayley Olds        121km
Jonny Espinosa    104km

Congratulations to them!
