SDCKT Membership Application
Welcome to the San Diego Canoe Kayak Team new member registration! We are excited to have you as part of our team.
PLEASE NOTE: All members must be active members of the American Canoe Association (ACA). When joining the ACA you must select San Diego Canoe Kayak Team as your Paddle America Club (PAC). You cannot paddle without an ACA number as this is where we get our liability insurance! Your ACA number will be requested below.
Requirements
1. I can swim 100 yards unassisted and may be asked to demonstrate this swimming ability at any time.
2. I have signed up to be a member of the American Canoe Association and have selected San Diego Canoe Kayak Team as my Paddle America Club.
3. I will sign and submit all waivers at the end of this application.
4. SDCKT requires all members to volunteer ten (10) hours per year, pro-rated to the date of membership, to the organization. In lieu of such a time donation, members may pay the amount appropriate to the members training group to the general fund. As a 501(c)3 not for profit organization, we rely on volunteers to help run our hosted events, help at community events, and contribute to the general maintenance of the facility and venue.
Volunteers help to maintain a dues structure which allows paddling to be financially feasible to a large number of the public and enables SDCKT to meet its goals through a variety of community outreach programs and events.
There are many opportunities to volunteer at SDCKT:
Volunteer at any SDCKT hosted event during the year.
Become an SDCKT board member, committee member or lead a cleanup day. Board members contribute more than 24 hours each per year to SDCKT.
Help out at events SDCKT attends, such as Nationals.
Participate in volunteer work days at the boathouse.
Raise funds for SDCKT and its programs.
